| ENTRY # 3 <<<<< 2ND PLACE IN THE 2005 CONTEST>>>>>>>>>> This poncho was knitted on size 15 needles entirely of Alpine Meadow fiber, spun and two-plied, to about 16 WPI. The fiber is called "Mountain Sky" and is simply beautiful! I had 18 ounces of the fiber and it spun up 700 yards. I used half of it for this poncho. I am NOT a very good knitter and this is the first lace-patterned project I ever tried that did not end up in the wastebasket!
Spinning this fiber was wonderful! The sparkle may not show up in the photos, but it sure showed as I spun and in the finished product.
The pattern is from the March, 2005, issue of Creative Knitting and it is called the "Steppin' Out Poncho".
Thanks for sponsoring this contest. It gave me a goal to keep knitting!!
