Both wheels are made of solid cherry by Jerry and Audrey Jensen

in Wisconsin, and are signed and dated.

Both come with 3 whorls, 3 bobbins (approx. 6 oz. capacity),

and flax distaff. Half Spokes as shown above are standard with this wheel.

RATIOS FOR THE 30" Ashley (Ratios are approximate -whorls are handturned)

Standard Ratios are 10:1, 12:1, 13.3:1, 15:1, 17:1.

High Speed Kit Ratios are 18.7:1, 23:1, 24:1, 27:1

Ultra High Speed Whorl Ratios are 30:1, 40:1 (Scotch Tension Only)

Optional Slow Whorl ratio is 7:1

RATIOS FOR THE 24" Ashley

Standard ratios are 8.7:1, 9.6:1, 10.6:1, 12:1, 13.7:1,

High Speed Kit Ratios are 15:1, 18.4:1, 19:1, 21.8:1

Ultra High Speed Whorl Ratios are 24:1, 32:1 (Scotch Tension Only)

Slow whorl is available.

*Jensen ratios are determined by dividing the diameter of the whorl

into wheel diameter. This method is described in Paula Simmon's

"Spinning and Weaving with Wool"
