Introducing the Sidekick, Schacht’s  folding spinning wheel that is compact, easy to fold and unfold, and above all else…a superior spinner. She is everything you are looking for in a traveling companion.
Here are some of the Sidekick’s features:

• Folds to 21 1/2" x 15" x 8 1/4". Integrated storage of bobbins, flyer, and whorls for transport. Lightweight at 13 pounds.13 3/4" drive wheel allows for ratios between 4.25 to 15.25. Long, comfortable treadles. Uses the same bobbins, whorls and flyer as the Schacht Matchless and Ladybug wheels. The Sidekick can be purchased without the bobbin-flyer assembly. 25" orifice height for comfortable spinning. Employs Scotch tension with precise control knob. The drive wheel spins on ball bearings. The flyer turns on self-aligning bearings. Drive band tension adjuster allows for all whorls to be used with one drive band.

Features include a generously-sized 7/8" orifice, large capacity bobbin (about 8 oz), sliding flyer hooks with incremental stops, and large round guide hooks. The Bulky Plyer Flyer comes with its own special front maiden, bulky flyer, and bulky bobbin.

Take Along Spinning Wheel Carry Bags are made of Cordura© which is a registered trademark fabric. It is quite beautiful and glossy on the outside and coated with a thin rubbery substance on the inside that makes it non scratchy and also very water resistant. (You often see this fabric used on luggage and backpacks.)
These Bags are:Machine Washable and Dryable (see below)
Waterproof (except for zippers and seams of course). Seams can be sealed for an additional $10
Padded on the bases and sometimes on additional pressure or bump points. Not recommended for airline travel in the luggage section. All bags have a large outside pocket with flap and zipper.
Two Polar Fleece bags (10" x 15") are included free when the order is placed with your Spinning

Orifice height: 25"- 26" approx.   Ratios will be approx. 7:1 & 12:1 and 10:1 & 14:1. An additional optional high speed whorl with ratios of approx. 16:1 & 18:1 will also be availale. Wheel is FINISHED and comes with 3 bobbins, lazy kate, threading hook and 2 whorls.
